Skeletal muscle

Skeletal muscle is one of the three main types of muscle tissue in the body, alongside cardiac and smooth muscle. It is attached to bones and is responsible for voluntary movements, allowing us to walk, run, lift, and perform daily activities. Skeletal muscles are striated, meaning they have a striped appearance under a microscope, which helps in contraction. They work by contracting and relaxing in response to signals from the nervous system. Regular exercise can strengthen these muscles, improve endurance, and enhance overall physical health.
