Tissues

Tissues are groups of similar cells that work together to perform specific functions in living organisms. In humans and other animals, there are four main types of tissues: epithelial (which covers surfaces), connective (which supports and binds other tissues), muscle (which enables movement), and nervous (which transmits signals). In plants, tissues include those responsible for growth, transport of nutrients, and photosynthesis. Understanding tissues is essential because they play critical roles in the overall function and health of organisms.
