Mongol Empire
The Mongol Empire, established in the early 13th century by Genghis Khan, became the largest contiguous empire in history. Originating in Central Asia, it expanded across much of Asia and into Europe, uniting diverse cultures and facilitating trade along the Silk Road. The Mongols were known for their exceptional horseback riding skills, military tactics, and organization. Despite their reputation for brutality in conquest, they promoted tolerance and cultural exchange among conquered peoples. The empire eventually fragmented, but its influence on trade, communication, and cultural exchange shaped the world for centuries to come.
