Tartars
Tartars, often referred to in historical contexts, were a group of nomadic peoples from Central Asia and Eastern Europe. They gained prominence during the 13th century with the expansion of the Mongol Empire. The term is historically associated with various Turkic and Mongolic tribes, notably the Golden Horde, which governed parts of Russia and Eastern Europe. Over time, "Tartar" became a broader label for various groups within this region. In modern usage, it can also refer to Tatar people, an ethnic group primarily in Russia, who have their own distinct culture and language.
