Crimean Khanate

The Crimean Khanate was a Tatar state that existed from the 15th to the 18th centuries in what is now Crimea and parts of Ukraine and Russia. It emerged after the decline of the Golden Horde and was a vassal state of the Ottoman Empire. The Khanate was known for its cavalry and slave trade, often raiding neighboring regions. It played a significant role in the geopolitical dynamics of Eastern Europe, particularly in relation to Russia, Poland, and the Ottomans, before being eventually absorbed by the Russian Empire in the late 18th century.
