Golden Horde

The Golden Horde was a large Mongol khanate that emerged in the 13th century as part of the Mongol Empire. It controlled a vast region that included parts of present-day Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Founded by Batu Khan, a grandson of Genghis Khan, the Golden Horde was significant for its influence over Eastern Europe and its role in the trade networks of the time.
