Golden Horde

The Golden Horde was a large Mongol khanate that emerged in the 13th century as part of the Mongol Empire. It controlled a vast region that included parts of present-day Russia, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan. Founded by Batu Khan, a grandson of Genghis Khan, the Golden Horde was significant for its influence over Eastern Europe and its role in the trade networks of the time. It gradually declined in power by the 15th century but left a lasting impact on the cultures, politics, and economies of the regions it ruled.
