Gallic tribes
The Gallic tribes were a collection of Celtic peoples who inhabited what is now France, Belgium, Switzerland, and parts of Italy and Germany during ancient times, especially before and during the Roman conquest in the 1st century BCE. Known for their distinct culture, language, and social organization, these tribes were often divided into smaller groups with their own leaders. Famous battles, such as those against Julius Caesar, showcased their fierce resistance. Ultimately, the Romans gradually conquered and integrated the Gallic tribes into their empire, significantly influencing the region's culture and history.
