Sequani

The Sequani were an ancient Celtic people who lived in what is now eastern France during the Iron Age. They were known for their skilled craftsmanship, particularly in metalwork and pottery, and played a significant role in regional trade and alliances. The Sequani interacted with neighboring tribes and the expanding Roman Empire, sometimes allying with or resisting Roman influence. Their territory included the area around the Upper Saône and Rhône rivers. Over time, integration into the Roman Empire led to their culture becoming Romanized, blending their traditions with those of the Romans.
