
Vercingetorix
Vercingetorix was a Gaulish leader who united various Celtic tribes in France during the late 1st century BC. He is most famous for his role in the Gallic Wars against the Roman general Julius Caesar. In 52 BC, he led a significant revolt against Roman rule, achieving several victories before ultimately being defeated at the Siege of Alesia. Vercingetorix's surrender marked the end of organized resistance against Roman expansion in Gaul.
