Emergence

Emergence refers to the phenomenon where complex systems and patterns arise from simple interactions among individual components. In other words, when smaller parts work together, they can create behavior or properties that are not present in any single part alone. A classic example is how individual ants follow simple rules yet collectively form complex colonies. Similarly, consciousness emerges from the interactions of billions of neurons in the brain. Emergence highlights how complexity in nature and society can evolve without a central direction, leading to new levels of organization and insight.
