Communist Party of the Soviet Union
The Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) was the ruling political party in the Soviet Union from its 1917 revolution until the country's dissolution in 1991. It advocated for a socialist state based on Marxist-Leninist principles, aiming to eliminate capitalism and class differences through collective ownership of the economy. The CPSU played a central role in governing the Soviet Union, controlling political, economic, and social life. Over time, it faced internal challenges, public dissatisfaction, and economic struggles, leading to its decline and the eventual collapse of the Soviet Union, which ended over seventy years of communist rule.
