Revolution of 1917

The Revolution of 1917 in Russia comprised two key events: the February Revolution and the October Revolution. In February, widespread anger at food shortages and poor leadership led to protests, resulting in the abdication of Tsar Nicholas II and the establishment of a provisional government. However, the new government struggled to address issues like continuing World War I. In October, the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, overthrew the provisional government, seeking to establish a socialist state. This upheaval marked the beginning of Soviet rule and significantly impacted global politics and ideologies in the 20th century.
