Zionism
Zionism is a political and cultural movement that emerged in the late 19th century, advocating for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine, largely in response to widespread anti-Semitism in Europe. The movement led to the creation of the State of Israel in 1948, following the Holocaust and World War II. Zionism encompasses various ideologies, ranging from secular nationalism to religious beliefs. While it represents a significant aspect of Jewish identity and aspirations, it has also sparked ongoing conflicts with Palestinian people and others over land, rights, and national identity in the region.
