
Zivia Lubetkin
Zivia Lubetkin was a prominent Jewish resistance fighter during World War II and one of the few women to lead in the Jewish underground. Born in 1914 in Poland, she was a key member of the ZOB (Jewish Fighting Organization) in the Warsaw Ghetto. After the Ghetto Uprising in 1943, she escaped and joined partisan groups fighting against the Nazis. Lubetkin later emigrated to Israel, where she became a social activist, contributing to the development of the Jewish state. Her legacy is a testament to courage and resilience in the face of unimaginable adversity.
