Jewish Combat Organization

The Jewish Combat Organization (ZOB) was a resistance group during World War II, formed in 1942 in the Warsaw Ghetto in Nazi-occupied Poland. Comprised mainly of Jewish youth, it aimed to fight against the deportation of Jews to extermination camps. The ZOB orchestrated an armed uprising against the Nazis in April 1943, in what became known as the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising. Despite being vastly outnumbered and outgunned, the fighters held out for nearly a month, symbolizing Jewish resistance and courage in the face of oppression. Their legacy is remembered as a critical act of defiance against Nazi tyranny.
