Ghetto Fighters

Ghetto fighters were individuals and groups who resisted Nazi oppression during the Holocaust by organizing armed resistance, underground activities, or protests within Jewish ghettos—segregated urban areas where Jews were confined by the Nazis. Despite extreme danger, they risked their lives to sabotage German plans, smuggle out information, and preserve Jewish culture and hope. Their efforts exemplify resilience and courage in the face of brutal persecution, and many of their stories have become important symbols of resistance against tyranny.
