Jewish Fighting Organization
The Jewish Fighting Organization (Zydowska Organizacja Bojowa, ZOB) was a clandestine group established in 1942 in Nazi-occupied Poland to resist and fight against the persecution of Jews. Comprising mainly Jewish fighters, it aimed to defend Jewish communities, gather intelligence, and plan acts of resistance, including sabotage and participation in the broader Jewish underground. The ZOB played a significant role in the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising of 1943, when Jewish fighters revolted against Nazi efforts to deport the ghetto residents. It symbolized Jewish resilience and resistance during the Holocaust.
