Golda Meir

Golda Meir was an influential Israeli politician and the fourth Prime Minister of Israel, serving from 1969 to 1974. Born in Ukraine in 1898, she immigrated to the United States and later moved to Palestine. Known as the "Iron Lady" before the term became popular, Meir was a strong advocate for Israel and played a crucial role during critical moments, including the Yom Kippur War in 1973. She was one of the first female leaders in the world and was known for her straightforwardness and determination, making significant contributions to Israel's statehood and development. Meir passed away in 1978.
