1967 Six-Day War

The 1967 Six-Day War was a conflict between Israel and neighboring Arab countries, mainly Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Tensions rose over territorial disputes and Palestinian statehood. On June 5, 1967, Israel launched a preemptive strike against Egypt, quickly defeating its air force and seizing control of the Sinai Peninsula. Israel then fought Jordan and Syria, capturing the West Bank and the Golan Heights. The war significantly changed the Middle East's geopolitical landscape, leading to ongoing disputes over these territories and influencing Arab-Israeli relations for decades. The war also intensified Palestinian nationalism and the quest for statehood.
