Operation Focus
Operation Focus was a strategic military attack launched by Israel during the Yom Kippur War in October 1973. Aimed at quickly disabling Egypt's and Syria's air forces, the operation involved a surprise, intensive air assault at the war's outset. Using rapid, well-coordinated attacks, Israeli fighters targeted Egyptian and Syrian aircraft on the ground and airfields, significantly reducing their ability to fight later. This initial success gained air superiority and allowed Israeli ground forces to advance. In essence, Operation Focus was a decisive move that set the stage for Israel's subsequent military actions during the war.
