The Six-Day War

The Six-Day War was a brief conflict in June 1967 between Israel and its neighboring countries: Egypt, Jordan, and Syria. Tensions had been escalating due to territorial disputes and hostilities. On June 5, Israel launched a preemptive strike, targeting Egyptian airfields. Within six days, Israel achieved a decisive victory, capturing the Sinai Peninsula, West Bank, Gaza Strip, and the Golan Heights. The war significantly altered the map of the Middle East and increased tensions in the region, laying the groundwork for future conflicts, peace efforts, and ongoing disputes over land and rights.
