Jewish identity
Jewish identity encompasses a rich blend of ethnicity, culture, religion, and history. It can be understood as both a faith—centered around the teachings of Judaism, significant texts like the Torah, and practices such as Shabbat—as well as a shared heritage and collective memory shaped by centuries of experience, including the Diaspora and significant events like the Holocaust. Jewish identity can be expressed through religious observance, cultural traditions like holidays and foods, and a sense of belonging to a global community, regardless of individual religious practices or beliefs.
