Theodor Herzl

Theodor Herzl was a Jewish journalist and writer born in 1860 who is considered the founder of modern political Zionism. He believed that Jewish people should have their own homeland to escape persecution and discrimination. Herzl organized efforts to establish a Jewish state in Palestine, advocating for political solutions and diplomatic negotiations. His 1896 book, "The Jewish State," laid the intellectual groundwork for the Zionist movement. Herzl's work inspired many to support the creation of Israel, which was established in 1948, fulfilling his vision for a secure Jewish homeland.
