
Anna Seghers
Anna Seghers was a prominent German writer, best known for her novels and short stories that often explore themes of exile, war, and social justice. Born in 1900, she became an important voice in literature, particularly during and after World War II. Her most famous work, "The Seventh Cross," tells the story of refugees fleeing Nazi Germany. Seghers, a committed anti-fascist and member of the Communist Party, spent much of her life in exile before returning to East Germany, where she continued to write and was recognized for her contributions to literature and political thought.
