Wine fermentation
Wine fermentation is the process where sugars from grape juice are converted into alcohol and carbon dioxide by yeast. After harvesting grapes, they are crushed to release juice, then yeast is added or allowed to occur naturally. The yeast consumes the sugars, producing alcohol and giving wine its unique flavors and aromas. This process can take from several days to weeks, depending on the type of wine being produced. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is separated from solids, then aged to develop its characteristics before being bottled for enjoyment.
