Takfirism

Takfirism is an extremist ideology within some interpretations of Islam that declares other Muslims as non-believers, or "kafirs." This practice allows groups to justify violence against those they label as apostates or heretics, often using religious texts to support their views. Takfirist groups, like ISIS or al-Qaeda, believe they are defending Islam by attacking those who oppose their strict interpretations. This ideology can lead to significant internal conflict within the Muslim community and often distorts the teachings of Islam, which emphasize compassion and unity among believers.
