Al-Nusra Front
Al-Nusra Front, also known as Jabhat al-Nusra, was a jihadist militant organization established in 2011 in Syria. It aimed to overthrow the Syrian government and establish an Islamic state, operating primarily through armed conflict. Initially linked to al-Qaeda, it claimed to focus on jihad against Syrian authorities and Western interests. Over time, it rebranded and distanced itself from al-Qaeda, merging with other groups or fragments under various names. The group has been designated as a terrorist organization by many countries and has been involved in complex, multi-sided Syrian conflicts, often using violent tactics to achieve its ideological goals.
