Sheikh Mujibur Rahman
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a prominent Bengali leader and the founding father of Bangladesh, known as "Bangabandhu" or "Friend of Bengal." Born on March 17, 1920, he played a crucial role in advocating for the rights of Bengalis during British colonial rule and later under Pakistani governance. His leadership in the Bengali nationalist movement culminated in Bangladesh's independence in 1971 after a brutal liberation war. Mujib served as the country's first president and later as prime minister. His vision for Bangladesh focused on democracy, social justice, and economic development until his assassination in 1975.
