military dictatorship
A military dictatorship is a form of government where the military controls the political power, often after taking control from a civilian government through a coup. In this system, military leaders make decisions with little or no input from the public or democratic institutions. Political freedoms, such as freedom of speech and assembly, are usually restricted, and dissent is often suppressed. Military dictatorships can arise in times of crisis, promising stability and order, but they frequently face criticism for human rights violations and lack of democratic governance. Examples include regimes in Argentina and Myanmar during certain periods.
