Scientific Paradigms

Scientific paradigms refer to a common understanding or ‘model’ that scientists in a particular field agree upon. It’s like a map used by a group of explorers. The map (paradigm) guides their exploration, determines what they think is important, and prescribes the methods they use. When new information challenges the existing map, paradigms may shift, leading to new directions in scientific discovery. This is the essence of progress in science.
