Sasanian Empire

The Sasanian Empire (224-651 CE) was the last great Persian empire, following the Parthian Empire. Stretching across modern Iran and parts of the Middle East, it emerged as a powerful state that rivaled the Roman Empire. Renowned for its achievements in art, science, and trade, the Sasanians revitalized Persian culture and established Zoroastrianism as the state religion. Their governance and military prowess played a crucial role in shaping Mesopotamian history, influencing the region's politics, economy, and cultural exchanges until the Islamic conquests transformed the landscape in the 7th century.
