Paleozoic Era
The Paleozoic Era is a major period in Earth's history that lasted from about 541 to 252 million years ago. It saw the emergence of a diverse range of life forms, including fish, amphibians, and early reptiles, as well as the first land plants. This era is divided into six periods, with significant events like the Cambrian Explosion, which led to a rapid increase in species, and the formation of supercontinents. The Paleozoic ended with the Permian Extinction, the largest mass extinction event in Earth's history, which dramatically altered life on the planet.
