Anomalocaris
Anomalocaris was a prehistoric marine creature that lived during the Cambrian period, around 500 million years ago. It resembled a large shrimp or a bizarre sea monster, measuring up to three feet long. Anomalocaris had a unique body structure, featuring a segmented body, large eyes, and spiked appendages for catching prey. It is considered one of the earliest known predators, primarily feeding on soft-bodied animals like trilobites. Its discovery has provided valuable insights into early marine ecosystems and the evolution of complex life forms.
