Laurentia

Laurentia, also known as the North American Craton, is a large landmass that includes most of present-day Canada and parts of the northern United States. It is an ancient geological platform that formed part of the supercontinent Rodinia around 1.1 billion years ago and later contributed to the formation of Pangaea. Laurentia is significant for understanding Earth's geological history, as it contains many of the Earth’s oldest rocks and provides insights into early continental development and tectonic activity. Today, it forms a stable foundation beneath the younger geology of North America.
