Nazca Lines
The Nazca Lines are a series of large geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert of southern Peru. Created by the Nazca culture between 500 BC and AD 500, these lines depict various animals, plants, and geometric shapes. They were made by removing reddish stones to reveal lighter soil underneath. The purpose of the Nazca Lines remains a subject of debate; some theories suggest they were used for astronomical purposes, while others propose religious significance. The vast scale and visibility of the lines, often only seen from the air, add to their mystery and cultural importance.
