NASA's Apollo program

NASA's Apollo program was a series of space missions aimed at landing humans on the Moon and bringing them safely back to Earth. Launched in the 1960s, it was part of the United States' effort to win the Space Race against the USSR. The most famous mission, Apollo 11, achieved this goal in 1969, when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walked on the lunar surface. The program included a total of 17 missions, contributing to our understanding of space, advancing technology, and inspiring generations in science and exploration. Apollo concluded in 1972 after six successful Moon landings.
