The Apollo 11 Moon Landing (document)
Apollo 11 was the first mission to land humans on the Moon, launched by NASA on July 16, 1969. Astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins traveled in a spacecraft called the Saturn V rocket. Armstrong and Aldrin descended to the lunar surface aboard the Lunar Module, while Collins orbited above. On July 20, 1969, Armstrong famously declared, "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind," as he stepped onto the Moon. They conducted experiments, collected samples, and returned safely to Earth on July 24, marking a significant achievement in space exploration and human history.
