Methane
Methane is a colorless, odorless gas that is the main component of natural gas, commonly used for heating and cooking. It is produced by natural processes, such as the decay of organic matter, and by human activities, like agriculture and landfill waste. Methane is a potent greenhouse gas, much stronger than carbon dioxide, contributing to climate change when released into the atmosphere. However, it's also an important energy source. Efforts are ongoing to reduce methane emissions through better management practices and technology to mitigate its environmental impact.
