Maliki school of thought

The Maliki school of thought is one of the four main Sunni Islamic legal schools. Founded by Imam Malik ibn Anas in the 8th century, it emphasizes the importance of the practices of the people of Medina as a source of legal guidance, alongside the Quran and Hadith (traditions of the Prophet Muhammad). Malikis prioritize consensus among scholars and consider the spirit of Islamic law in their rulings. This school is particularly influential in North and West Africa, where it shapes religious practice and legal systems, promoting a balance between tradition and contemporary issues in the context of Islamic law.
