HPV (Human Papillomavirus)

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a common virus that spreads through intimate skin-to-skin contact, often during sexual activity. There are many types of HPV, some of which can cause health issues, including genital warts and certain cancers, such as cervical cancer. Most people with HPV do not show symptoms and the virus often goes away on its own without causing serious health problems. Vaccines are available that can protect against the most harmful strains of HPV, making vaccination an important step in preventing related diseases. Regular screenings, such as Pap tests, are also recommended for early detection.
