Gibbs free energy

Gibbs Free Energy is a concept in thermodynamics that helps us understand whether a chemical reaction can occur spontaneously. It combines the system's internal energy with its temperature and entropy (disorder). If the Gibbs Free Energy decreases during a reaction, it's more likely to happen naturally. In simpler terms, it tells us about the energy available to do work and whether a process will proceed without outside help. If a reaction has a negative Gibbs Free Energy change, it means it can happen on its own; if positive, it generally won’t happen without additional energy.
