Edwin Hubble

Edwin Hubble was an American astronomer whose groundbreaking work transformed our understanding of the universe. He discovered that galaxies are moving away from us, leading to the formulation of Hubble's Law, which shows that the farther a galaxy is, the faster it recedes. This supported the idea of an expanding universe and was pivotal in the development of cosmology. Hubble also contributed to classifying galaxies and showed that many objects previously thought to be nebulae were, in fact, distant galaxies. His work laid the foundation for modern astrophysics, enhancing our comprehension of the cosmos and our place within it.
