Hubbl's Law

Hubble's Law is an observation in cosmology stating that galaxies are moving away from us, and the farther away a galaxy is, the faster it appears to be receding. This relationship suggests that the universe is expanding. The law is named after astronomer Edwin Hubble, who, in the 1920s, discovered this pattern by analyzing the light from distant galaxies. By measuring the redshift of their light, he found that more distant galaxies show greater shifts, indicating motion away from us. Hubble's Law supports the Big Bang theory, which describes the origin and expansion of the universe.
