Blue shift
Blue shift refers to the phenomenon where light from an object moving toward an observer appears to shift toward the blue end of the spectrum. This occurs because the wavelengths of the light compress as the object approaches, making the light appear shorter and bluer. In astronomy, blue shift is often observed in galaxies or stars that are moving closer to Earth, indicating their motion towards us. This contrasts with redshift, where light from an object moving away appears redder. Blue shift helps scientists understand the dynamics of celestial bodies and the expansion of the universe.
