Department of Defense

The Department of Defense (DoD) is a key part of the U.S. Executive Branch, responsible for coordinating and overseeing the nation’s military services. It ensures national security, manages military operations, develops defense policies, and allocates resources for the Army, Navy, Air Force, and other defense agencies. The DoD works to protect the country against threats and respond to global crises. The Secretary of Defense, a Cabinet member appointed by the President, leads the department and advises the President on military matters.
