Defense Production Act

The Defense Production Act (DPA) is a U.S. law that allows the government to prioritize and allocate resources, materials, and services needed for national defense. It gives the President the authority to require businesses to produce certain goods and to manage supply chains during emergencies, such as wars or natural disasters. The DPA aims to ensure that the military and other critical sectors have the necessary supplies, while also supporting the economy by incentivizing production. Essentially, it helps to mobilize and coordinate resources for national security needs.
