The American Military

The American military consists of five branches: the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard. Its primary role is to defend the United States and its interests, both domestically and internationally. Each branch has unique responsibilities; for example, the Army handles ground operations, while the Navy focuses on maritime defense. The military is composed of active-duty service members and reserves who can be called upon in emergencies. Additionally, it plays a role in humanitarian efforts and disaster response. The U.S. military also collaborates with international allies to promote global security.
