Authority and Power

Authority refers to the accepted right of a person or organization to make decisions, issue orders, and enforce obedience. It is often obtained through a recognized position, such as a governmental role. Power, on the other hand, relates to the ability to influence the behavior of others, whether through force, persuasion or manipulation. In politics, authority and power interact, with those in authority often wielding power, but individuals or groups can also possess power without having formal authority. These concepts help shape political structures, societal regulations, and the execution of laws and policies.
