Political Legitimacy
Political legitimacy is essentially the accepted right of a government to rule. It's a belief among the people that their governing body has the authority to make decisions and laws. This acceptance isn't just fear-based, but also comes because people believe in the fairness, justice or democracy of their political system. Without legitimacy, a government's power is seen as unjust or fake. So, in essence, it's the society's consent, making the government's authority genuine and accepted.
