Arachnids

Arachnids are a class of joint-legged invertebrates that include spiders, scorpions, ticks, and mites. Unlike insects, arachnids have eight legs (compared to six in insects), and their bodies are divided into two main parts: the cephalothorax and the abdomen. They typically breathe through specialized structures called book lungs or tracheae. Most arachnids are predators, often using venom to subdue their prey. They play important roles in ecosystems, such as controlling pest populations. While some arachnids are harmless, others, like certain spiders and scorpions, can be venomous to humans, making awareness important.
